M. Robert Markovich has a multi-faceted career in the visual arts. His work has been published nationally, and internationally in Japan, Italy, and Great Britain.  He graduated with honors from the University of California, Riverside, with a major in Studio Art/Photography and a minor in Film and Visual Culture. Markovich completed his Master of Arts Degree at California State University, San Bernardino. He is currently the Digital Media/Photography Specialist managing the Digital Media and Photography facilities at Chaffey College, concentrating on the integration of technology into curriculum. Prior to working in education, Markovich worked in the photography and design industry, as Technical Director, managing a photographic services company and developing photographic layering processes for creating composite images on film. The combination of technical knowledge, historical referents, and contemporary theoretical processes has constantly informed his work as an artist and image maker. His work is framed by layered issues of representation, apparatus and memory.

Markovich’s work has been exhibited and published in many venues, including the Academy Press of London, World Interior Design of Japan, Domus in Italy, UCLA, University of California Riverside, the California Museum of Photography, Rizzoli International, the Fullerton Art Museum, Rhode Island School of Design, Oakland Museum, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Artweek, and the Whitney Library of Design. His work is in public and private collections nationally and internationally.
